The 287(g) program, one of ICE’s top partnership initiatives, allows a state or local law enforcement entity to enter into a partnership with ICE, under a joint Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), in order to receive delegated authority for immigration enforcement within their jurisdictions.

Many counties in Nevada have entered an agreement with ICE and when people are detained for a traffic violation police officers in Las Vegas, Nye and Lyon county will be able to identify and process them for removal under ICE supervision.  

Make the Road Nevada and its members believe that a traffic stop should not result in a detention center that carries out deportation. The system has to change. We know that 287g requests are the priority for immigration agents more than any other in our state and that has to change.

Puerto Rico 1 Year Later

Hurricane Maria shows a death toll of 4,600 according to a new report. This hurricane has shown to be the deadliest natural disaster on US soil, and one that until this day continues to be ignored by the federal government. As a result, from the crisis on the Island, many families are arriving to Nevada, as we welcome them, we also stand alongside these families until they receive the respect they deserve and until policies are put in place to aid the island.


For the few people that we have met that are now living in Las Vegas, they are struggling to get access to resources and services.
